What is Asset Tokenization?

Asset tokenization is the process of creating a digital token on a blockchain that represents ownership of an asset. The asset can be financial (a fund, a bond) or physical (real estate, commodities). Tokenization turns ownership into something programmable, divisible, and easier to transfer.

The tokenization process

Tokenization generally follows a few stages: structure the asset and define ownership terms, verify the parties involved, issue the token under a compliant standard, distribute it to eligible holders, and manage it across its lifecycle including any secondary trading and eventual redemption.

The benefits

Tokenization can unlock fractional ownership, broaden access, speed up settlement, reduce administrative overhead, and improve transparency through a shared, auditable record. These benefits are why financial institutions are increasingly bringing assets on-chain.

Doing it at institutional standard

Tokenization is financial infrastructure, not just a token. It requires compliance, identity, custody, verification, and settlement working together. SUPERBLOCK provides this as an integrated stack.
