Verifiable Compute
Prove the work was done correctly, without re-running it.
What it does
When computation happens off-chain, the chain has to take the result on trust, or repeat the work to check it. Neither suits a compute marketplace. This module is designed so a job carries a proof that it was executed correctly against the stated inputs, which a contract can verify far more cheaply than performing the computation itself. That lets a buyer pay on evidence rather than on reputation, and lets a provider be paid without disclosing the inputs where those are commercially sensitive. Designed for SBX GRID, which is in development.
Powers
How it works
Verifiable Compute is how the Compute Marketplace settles. The Node Registry establishes who ran the job, this module proves the job was run correctly, and payment follows the proof.
Select a step to replay it. Hover to pause.
Step 1 of 3: Submit. A buyer submits a job to the marketplace with the inputs and the expected computation.
Key capabilities
Proof of correct execution
The result arrives with evidence that the stated computation actually produced it.
Cheap on-chain verification
Checking a proof costs far less than re-running the job to confirm it.
Payment on evidence, not trust
A buyer settles against a verified result rather than a provider's reputation.
Inputs can stay private
Commercially sensitive inputs need not be disclosed for the result to be checkable.
