Investor Onboarding

Takes a person from signing in to ready to invest, on any client platform, with each client’s own rules.

What it does

A configurable journey: profile, then company details where the investor is a company, the client’s own eligibility questions, eligibility, the client’s legal documents, identity verification — KYC for a person, KYB for a company — and a wallet step at the point one is first needed. Each client sets its own rules: which countries and investor types it accepts, which questions it asks, which documents it requires, and how long a verification stays valid. Data stays separate: each client keeps its own records, so someone active on two platforms is two records, not one shared profile. When a client publishes new terms, people are asked to accept again. The journey is resumable, picking up where someone left off on any device. Wallets are the investor’s own — they create or connect one, and the platform never holds keys. In development.

How it works

Investor Onboarding is the way in. It hands identity checks to KYC & KYB, records the outcome through the Attestation Registry so other modules can check it, and follows the rules the client set in Tenant Platform & Fees. Credentials it produces are the ones SBX ID reuses across platforms.

Step 1 of 3: Answer. Profile, company details where it applies, and the client’s own eligibility questions.

Key capabilities

Per-client eligibility rules and versioned questions

Countries, investor types and questions are each client’s own, and every question set carries a version so an answer is always read against the form that was asked.

A record of every accepted document version

Which terms a person accepted, and when, is kept against their record. New terms prompt a fresh acceptance rather than a silent change.

KYC/KYB hand-off

Identity checks go to the client’s chosen provider, in-house or third-party, and the outcome comes back as a credential other modules can check.

Re-verification reminders

Each client sets how long a verification stays valid, and people are prompted before it lapses.

Self-custody wallet step

Investors create or connect a wallet they control. The platform never holds keys on their behalf.

Resumable on any device

The journey picks up where it was left, so a check that needs a document to hand does not mean starting again.
